We are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to providing outdoor experiences that enrich the lives of youth in the South Kalamazoo County area and beyond.
Founded in 1948 with the donation of water front property by Charles and Maude Aulms, Camp Char Le Maude is our camp located on Barton Lake in Vicksburg, Michigan.
For 70 years we have offered Boy Scout Troops, Girl Scout Troops, youth groups, and many others the opportunity to gather, camp, canoe, fish, and learn at our beautiful lakefront setting. Our goal is to provide outdoor adventure opportunities to all youth.
In 2017 we were granted 501c3 non-profit status as Friends of Vicksburg Youth, Inc.
We are guided by a dedicated Board of Directors who are passionate about leaving a legacy that includes preparing Camp Char Le Maude for all future generations. Our camp is a hidden gem within the community of Vicksburg that has effectively served youth for 70 years.
Currently, we are in the process of creating a master plan that will not only improve Camp Char Le Maude today, but prepare it for many future generations of youth.
In addition to being the caretakers of Camp Char Le Maude, we support many other outdoor activities including:
And more!
As we continue to grow we look forward to supporting many more youth outdoor activities.
